Job Description

General Summary
The Systems Engineer will be engaged in all presales activities. The SE must have Cisco specific knowledge. Any certifications and specializations to back up that knowledge are highly recommended. The main focus will be on Cisco solutions which include Cisco’s Advanced & Emerging Technologies portfolio. Within the Cisco portfolio we focus on Unified Communications, Collaboration, Contact Center, Messaging, Physical Security, Data Center, Security and Wireless systems. The SE will have the opportunity to work with the sales teams in Enterprise, Commercial and the Public Sector Markets.

Type of Supervision

Direction indicates that the employee establishes procedures for attending specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Only the final results of work done are typically reviewed. The employee typically develops procedures within the limit of established policy guidelines.


DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:

  • Must be able to work independently to gather requirements and translate those into solutions
    Collaborate with the sales team to build a winning strategy
  • Take ownership of 1-3 strategic accounts and drive new opportunities
  • Whiteboard with a customer and team members
  • Build BOM’s, Costing Analysis, SOW’s, and Visio’s
    Able to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Develop strategic relationships with our Partner SE’s
  • Provide support across multiple technologies
  • Some travel may be required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must demonstrate: the ability to appear for work on time, to accept constructive criticism, to maintain and develop positive team cohesiveness, and the ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures

· Current minimum Cisco Certifications CCNP/DP, CCVP, CCSP (or similar)

· BA or BS or the equivalent in years of industry knowledge

  • Must demonstrate: the ability to appear for work on time, to accept constructive criticism, to maintain and develop positive team cohesiveness, and the ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
