Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Serves as the senior technical authority on network infrastructure hardware and software and its effective application at  facilities.

2. Installs and configures new network infrastructure hardware, software, peripherals, and services in accordance with current IT standards.

3. Monitors the  network infrastructure and related systems for performance and integrity. Ensures that all systems are kept current with regard to patch levels, software revisions, and feature sets.

4. Leads network troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts, including performing root-cause analysis and disseminating lessons learned among IT staff.

5. Recommends changes to the infrastructure, IT systems, policy and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and current technology trends.

6. Serves as principle technical liaison between the IT department and third-party contractors and consultants.

7. Provides technical input to the IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and participates in both disaster recovery testing and execution.

8. Performs other duties as specified by IT management.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS and a minimum of seven years of experience and progressive responsibility in the IT field. Equivalent exceptional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

2. Recent, relevant experience must include the following at an advanced or expert level:

- Network infrastructure hardware and software including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls

- Experience in the installation and configuration of Virtual Private Network (VPN) systems

- IP address scheme creation, management, and maintenance

- Experience in LAN, WAN and MAN environments

- Experience in network security including intrusion prevention and detection

- Creation and enforcement of network security standards and practices

- Network performance monitoring and problem resolution

- Experience in project management of complex network installations or renovations

3. Current Cisco CCNA or higher certification

4. Excellent communications skills

5. Preferred skills:

- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

- Experience with Cisco Network Access Control (NAC)

- Experience with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls

- Experience in a team leadership role

Provide dedicated Level 3 LAN/WAN support for the organization’s Capital Markets/Trading Floor environment, perform hands on problem determination, manage break fix vendor/carrier problem.

Work directly with Network Integration and Engineering on large-scale projects.

Perform functional checklists to ensure proactive problem management and highlight potential issues Ensure written operational procedures for the operations center are kept current and accurate Perform defined Risk and Control checks to a defined schedule Write problem analysis reports to agreed formats detailing Reasons for Outage and measures to prevent reoccurrence.

Perform proactive audits on network devices using Alterpoint and other tools Perform level3 type troubleshooting for North America and LATAM regions for chronic and/or critical problems.

Assist in root causing any and all outages Develops, improves, implements and delivers superior Network Operations support to the infrastructure.

Escalate issues and/or outages to regional and/or global engineering

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Expert working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches Expert working knowledge of Multicasting (PIM, Dense Mode, Sparse Mode) Expert working knowledge of WANs (T1s, T3s, MPLS, Frame Relay) Expert working knowledge of at least three of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP.

Strong working knowledge of at least two of the following routed protocols: IPv4 & IPv6 Strong working knowledge of at least three of the following media types: Fastethernet, Gigabit and Tengigabit Strong working knowledge of network general sniffers and probes and packet analysis.

Cisco Professional Level certification required – CCNP/CCIP/CCVP

As a Network Lan/Wan Architect, your primary responsibility is to provide design, configuration, implementation, install, and support the network.  As a Network Architect, the majority of your time will be designing, configuring, testing, and articulating your thoughts to the customer, other IT teams, and upper management.  The ideal candidate must have excellent written, communication and peoples skills.  This candidate must be able manage, prioritize, and complete tickets and projects with little or no supervision.

· Very seasoned in network designs – able to provide some examples

· Be able to come up and communicate short term and long term strategies

· Hands on experience in deploying the latest technology – Nexus, Wireless, VSS, Firewalls, and VPNs

· Someone who understands how these designs and systems will impact other groups.  i.e. SANS, Windows Services, Unix, Application, etc.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS).  CCNP and CCDP is required, CCIE and CCDE is Preferred

Work Experience:

· Expert-level experience in relevant fields of network engineering/implementation and design.

· Excellent technical skills on networks, primarily related to Cisco routing, switching, security, and wireless LAN products to include Catalyst and Nexus family of products, wireless LAN controllers, ASA firewalls/VPNs.

· +2 years experience with MS Project

· Expert level hands-on operation of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.

· +2 year’s experience with load balancing including hardware appliances and software load balancing such as NLB and SLB

· 7+ years of experience in LAN/WAN network engineering.

· Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP IPv4/IPv6, L2/L3, firewalls, VPN, SNMP, network monitors and protocol analyzers.

· Extensive hands on with Cisco 3500, 3700, 4500, and 6500 series switches

· Both hands on and design experience using Nexus platform

· Extensive experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting EIGRP, MPLS, BGP(eBGP/iBGP), QoS, VSS, and multicast.

· Experience with wireless and VoIP environments a plus.

· Perl scripting a plus
